State Fair visitors will be asked to vote for their favorite container.
SEWMG members will earn volunteer hours for designing, planting, and tending to their container to beautify our gardens at the State Fair. Track your hours.
Sign up by emailing Mary Wolverton starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The first 10 responders will be entered into the contest.
Use your own container and plant material that is easy to transport to the fairgrounds (will it fit in your car). Spots in the garden will be pre-assigned, and you will be given a map of the locations with sun to shade designated. The first volunteer to signup will be given first choice of location, the second volunteer the second choice, etc.
The fair runs from August 1 to 11, 2024. Containers must be dropped off at an assigned morning delivery time on Saturday, July 27, or Monday, July 29. After the fair, containers must be picked up the morning of Wednesday, August 14.
Voting closes the last Saturday at 5 p.m. and ballots are tallied. The top three winners receive a ribbon displayed all day Sunday, recognition on the SEWMG website, and a gift certificate to a local garden center.
Please direct all questions to Mary Wolverton.
Once again we will staff our garden in Exploratory Park and look forward to you joining us.
